The Road to Energy Compliance

Phase III due in December 2023 but you should look to start now.  Collecting and recording your data, documenting any energy saving projects you've undertaken and creating and updating an Energy Saving Opportunity Register.

When is your financial year end.  This report needs to be added to your company accounts, lodged at Companies House.  First compliance date will be April 2020 and you need to create not only an Energy Saving narrative but also a relevant and reportable Energy Intensity Metric.

As a business do you rent out or lease property.  This could be the building your business works from or a spare building you rent out to others.  As of April 2019 it is illegal to sell or rent out any building with an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) of F or G.

Are you exempt due to Listed status, age and structure of the building or prohibitive cost.  We can help.

Does your business or industry have to report, do you generate large amounts of Energy.  Help is available.

Air Conditioning units (Chillers or Condensers) are normally filled with a gas which can and does damage the atmosphere.  Therefore its mandatory to have regular checks and certification that any cooling unit above 12kWh is working and no gas has escaped.
